Final spurt – A summary of the “FlashBoxOldenburg” project

13. September 2005, 17:00

Presentation

The “FlashBoxOldenburg” project is entering its final spurt, the 100 days are over on September 18. Before all the lights are switched off, the speed cameras dismantled and collected again, the organizers from the Edith-Ruß-Haus für Medienkunst and the Oldenburger Kunstverein, together with the artist Mischa Kuball, sum up the event.

What happens when a renowned, internationally active artist confronts the Oldenburg community with an irritating light installation in the city center? How do the people of Oldenburg and their visitors react to such a provocation? Are they tolerant and open-minded, curious and willing to participate?

The light sponsors who took part in the project during the 100 days and made their building façade available for one of the flashlights are also invited to this evening. Students from the BBS are actively involved in this evening and will contribute their own thoughts and thus complement our experiences as organizers and the artist’s assessments.

A publication accompanying the exhibition was published by Isensee Verlag Oldenburg.
