(with simultaneous translation)
In recent years, Rogelio López Cuenca has developed a series of artistic research works based on websites with a very specific cartographic character. The artist uses deterritorializations of the official structure, which are usually used for city descriptions, to give expression and spatiality to silenced voices. These are voices that are found more on streets and in houses than on the pages of books or in mass communication media. What officially exists “nowhere” can be made visible by means of critical cartographies: Counter-cartographies, alternative trajectories and renewed mark-making “here and now”. Rogelio López Cuenca (Málaga, 1959). Poet and media artist, explores processes of identity construction through iconography and contemporary modes of expression. He develops his work in publications, workshops, exhibitions, interventions in public space, on television and on the Internet: www.malagana.com.
