Claudia Kapp: Closer, 2009, installation and projection

In her installations and videos, Claudia Kapp explores the search for meaning and the pursuit of happiness. The artist takes popular motifs such as a neon sign from New York or a Sally Oldfield song, which have shaped the collective memory, with a wink at and places them in new contexts of meaning. With the help of exaggerations and repetitions, she examines contemporary constructions of reality.

In the current workshop for schools, pupils can engage intensively with the exhibition. They select individual works that they want to report on with stamps and texts they have designed themselves. The resulting contributions will be added to a wall newspaper, which can be read and added to by visitors during the exhibition and thus slowly grow.
