“Rock ‘N’ Scroll – Throw your mouse up in the air and wave it all around like you just don’t care!”
Just use your mouse as a rattle, your keyboard as a keyboard and your phone as a microphone and make music!
On Friday, March 30, 2007, Annina Rüst will be converting computers with the “Rock ‘N’ Scroll” software at two locations in downtown Oldenburg in order to move rhythmically and make music with normal laptop users. Anyone can take part.
Admission is free.
Cafés, shopping centers, parks and other meeting places are often already equipped with wireless Internet, so that they not only invite people to socialize, but also to work on their computers. Imagine entering such a place, but instead of sitting motionless in front of their computers and staring at their screens, computer users make rhythmic movements with their accessories. The laptop’s mouse pad is used to perform DJ-like scratch movements, the joystick and mouse are shaken like rattles, the keyboard is used as a drum kit and the cell phone is used as a microphone. The laptops connect via Internet telephony (Voice over IP) so that every user can contribute to the spontaneous “jam session”.
