Achim Mohné:
‘For their own safety, these rooms are under video surveillance’
Surveillance technologies and their artistic use
Achim Mohné will present his cycle “Panopticon”, which has been using or abusing surveillance technologies across all media since 1996. Perceptual-psychological phenomena, media traps, public interventions, audiovisual simulations and collective security thinking will be addressed. The reaction to a work of art is the focus of observation, not the work of art itself.
The current project “Remotewords”, which makes messages written on roofs visible worldwide via Google Earth, is about the power and powerlessness of digital observation and communication systems.
