The Vietnamese-American artist’s exhibition, which centers on the story of a handmade boat, is based on research and his commitment to communities traumatized by colonialism, war and displacement.

Film “Dahomey” (OmU) with post-screening discussion

This poetic and haunting documentary poses profound questions about the appropriation of artifacts, self-determination and restitution from a contemporary perspective. A moving and at the same time unique contemporary document.

Follow-up discussion with JProf. Dr. Julia Wurr (Postcolonial Studies/ Carl von Ossietzky University) and Marcel Schwierin (Director of the Edith-Russ-Haus).
