For the Long Night of Music, the House of Media Art presents the project WhyBirdsSing
Do birds really “sing”? Are the sounds of nature “musical”? The seminar room of the House of Media Art becomes a field of experimentation for an immersive bird landscape: artificial intelligence and the interpretation of found objects are used to create kinetic installations and prepared instruments. A commissioned composition by Kazakh composer Jamilia Jazylbekova for the violin duo Sugimura/Werhahn will be heard in the light installation by the artist group Raumzeitpiraten in the seminar room. The performance group from the Blauschimmel Atelier immerses itself in the world of birds from the perspective of movement. In a close dialog between object, human, sound and space, the joy of artistic exploration becomes tangible.
A joint musical-performative contribution by the music school, the Haus für Medienkunst and the Blauschimmel Atelier e.V. with the artist group Raumzeitpiraten.
