Event

Media and mediality

11. November 2015, 18:00 - 21:00

Lecture

The decision to work with media is determined by many factors: Conceptual, strategic, emotional, political…

Media and Mediality is a transdisciplinary series of events that scrutinizes the choice of media.

Why was which medium used for an artistic, scientific or socio-political project? The aim is to intensify the discussion about media, their choice and significance.

Three short presentations followed by a discussion.

And it does fly – the sheet metal!
A look at sculpture, material and consequences.

My artistic medium is primarily sculpture.
In the 15 minutes I talk about the choice and meaning of this medium, about (sometimes surprising) experiences with materials, about decisions and artistic strategies.

Performative media. Use and performance.

Current project examples are used to map the medialities of action spaces.

The choice of media can thus appear plausible within the recorded (unfinished) processes.

Plausible here means contradicting or thwarting the potential logic of the action space.
