Tao Di Di is a boy I met on the streets of Gui Yu. People say that only a child born outside the state-imposed one-child policy in China would have a name like Tao Di Di (runaway brother). Gui Yu is a city known to the rest of the world for its catastrophic pollution resulting from the recycling of electronic waste. According to Greenpeace, more than 80% of the children in Gui Yu suffer from respiratory diseases and about 25% of the children have moderate lead poisoning. This video is a short documentary about Tao Di Di, set in the streets where electronic waste is recycled.
