Sound performance: Edith-Russ-Haus presents sound artist Tarek Atoui

The Edith-Russ-Haus presents the internationally renowned sound artist and performer Tarek Atoui, who will be performing for the first time in Oldenburg on Tuesday, April 12 at 8 pm in the Exerzierhalle am Pferdemarkt. For his rousing solo performance, Atoui will use the electronic interfaces and software from his projects Un-drum and The Metastable Circuit as polyphonic sampler and improvisation tools. The manipulated sound material comes from recordings and documents he has collected in the context of his projects such as Dahlem and the Reverse Sessions, Re.visiting Tarab and I/E . They will be articulated with purely synthetic sounds from digital materials that will change their spectral quality and timbre.

This is an event organized by the Edith-Russ-Haus as part of the klangpol concert series ^NOIeS! and in cooperation with the Oldenburg State Theatre. Tickets are available now for 16 euros (concessions 8 euros) at the box office of the Staatstheater and at www.staatstheater.de.
