Thomas Feuerstein:
‘The artist as avatar or from ready-made to media-made‘
The artist creates his own double, an artificial artist or a multiple personality in which different fields of discourse intermingle and from which heretical voices speak. Thomas Feuerstein’s installations and performances from the work series “The Artist as Avatar” refer to the state of the mediatized individual and form knots through the interweaving of technological and cultural-historical threads, which in turn present the situation of the artist as symptomatic of the increasingly contingent world we experience.
