Experimental.<br \/> This animated film is based on 879 drawn film stills from Alfred Hitchcock&#8217;s suspense classic&nbsp;<em>North By Northwest<\/em> (1959). Starring an animated character \u00e0 la Cary Grant, the film puts a new spin on images that have since become clich\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Fast Film <\/strong>\/ Virgil Widrich, 35 mm, 14 min., Austria\/Luxembourg 2003<br \/> A kiss, a happy couple. But suddenly the woman is kidnapped. The man sets out to rescue her. A rescue drama full of wild chases begins. All the scenes are taken from 300 different works of film history, and the identity of the heroes changes just as often. But the production technique is particularly astonishing: 65,000 paper printouts of the original sequences were folded into paper objects, then arranged into complex tableaux and brought back to life with the trick camera in a tour de force through film history.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Phoenix Tapes <\/strong>\/ Christoph Girardet, Matthias M\u00fcller, music for      &nbsp;<em>Bedroom<\/em>: Dirk Schaefer, Betacam SP, 47 min, color\/b\/w, D 1999<br \/> Die&nbsp;<em>Phoenix Tapes<\/em> were commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art Oxford for the exhibition &#8220;Notorious &#8211; Alfred Hitchcock and Contemporary Art&#8221;. In a cycle of 6 videos, the filmmakers assemble a collection of moments from Hitchcock&#8217;s works such as deserted places, handbags and insane lovers.
